Cosa Nuestra By Rauw Alejandro

Puerto Rican singer, Rauw Alejandro, released his fifth studio album Cosa Nuestra on November 15, 2024 through Sony Music Latin and Duars Entertainment. Cosa Nuestra has guest appearances by Bad Bunny, Pharrell Williams, Alexis & Fido, FEID, Romeo Santos, Laura Pausini and LATIN MAFIA. The genres are Reggaeton, R&B, Bachata and Salsa with the languages being English and Spanish. The album was inspired by 1970s New York City with a mix of Puerto Rican culture. The album cover draws inspiration from the Sicilian Mafia aesthetic, but it is meant to reclaim Puerto Rican culture in heritage. The main concept is to showcase the vibrant music and culture scene of the 1970s in New York. The album cover has characteristics that are heavily inspired by the Sicilian Mafia. Rauw Alejandro has made it clear that Cosa Nuestra is meant to show a sense of belonging to something on a larger scale which translates to our thing.

The album kicks off with Cosa Nuestra as the first song with the mafia vibes regarding money, deals and people not understanding the vibes. There are two songs, "Ni Me Conozco" and "Se Fue," that are in the middle of this album due to the album being in the form of a story. At first, the album starts with explaining what the entire deal is, which then moves on to trying to be in love with a woman, to getting heartbroken by her for not wanting him, to then ending up with her for a brief moment before she leaves him for good. This entire album was made to be a story that plays in your mind when you listen to it.

Rauw Alejandro having all of these big name artists in his album did not shed light from his success with his solo songs. His solo songs are a lot more popular than the songs that he has with Bad Bunny and Romeo Santos, which are two other very famous Puerto Rican artists. Rauw Alejandro was able to establish himself in his album and make it a hit with very little help from other artists. The album was ranked number one in US top Latin albums and was in the sixth position in the US billboard 200. All 18 tracks ranked in the billboards.

Due to the success of this album, there has been a sold out US tour which started on April 5, 2025 in Seattle. After the US tour, there will be a European tour which will then be followed by a Latino America tour. Cosa Nuestra won a Latin Grammy award and was nominated for another Grammy award. It was also the top charting Latin album in 2024, even with its release beating his colleague Bad Bunny.

This album has been a complete hit from the beginning and up to this point with the sold out tour in the US. With all the different types of genres mixed in with this album and the guest artists, it has been able to remain charting. Rauw Alejandro was able to establish himself on an even bigger platform than before. Cosa Nuestra has shown how great of an artist Rauw Alejandro is with creating an entire story within his music.
